Freight can be one of the most costly aspects in purchasing a toy or DVD and there are a few things to consider.

Distance increases freight costs. Where possible buy your products within your own country or region. Some companies have very reasonable shipping charges on international orders but when the credit card bill arrives in most instances it would have been cheaper to buy at home.

The quicker you want it the more you pay. Ground shipping is far cheaper than next day Air Express, if you can wait a day or two for your package to arrive you can save a bundle.

Size does matter. Most freight costs quoted are for small parcels that weigh a few kilos or pounds. That 400lbs. cast iron slave rack that you've had your eye on will not be delivered for $6.95, sorry!

Other services. Other freight services such as order tracking and insurance can add to the cost of shipping but if you have ordered $200 worth of toys and DVD's it might be worth it. Gift wrapping is a nice touch when sending that special person a new accessory but think twice about it when purchasing for yourself.

Free delivery. Watch out for this one.....The companies have to make money somehow and if they ship for free you could be paying though the nose for your products.
